The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association executive committee is made up of five individuals, the President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Past President. All elected officials hold office for one year. All SDCA leadership is nominated and selected by SDCA members. SDCA is made up of 14 local affiliates and 3 councils, a representative from each affiliate and council is elected to serve on the Board of Directors. The state is also divided into 5 regions; each region elects a Regional Vice President to serve as a representative on the board of directors.

Jeff is the 4th generation to live on and operate his family’s farming and ranching operation near Newell. Jeff’s wife Kim and his parents Steve and Kay are all involved in the business. They predominately raise Angus cattle, alfalfa, oat, and grass hay. Jeff and Kim have one daughter, Marlee (born in 2003), and Trey (born in 2006). 

In 2007, Jeff was the VP for the Black Hills Cattlemen and also sat on the Board of Directors for SDCA. He was also the 2007 SDCA representative at the Young Cattlemen’s Conference. He is currently the Vice Chair for the Federal Lands Committee.

Cory has farmed with his wife Leanne for 28 years. He also works with his nephews Kelly and Ben Endorf. The operation includes corn, soybeans, wheat and hay. Cory also has a cow/calf operation where he finishes his own calves. Cory and Leanne have two grown daughters, Rachel lives in Mitchell while Leslie lives in Sioux Falls. A 1981 graduate of SDSU with B.S. degrees in Agriculture Business and Ag Economics, Cory is lifetime member of Epiphany Catholic church and also served as past president of the Canova Co-op where he has also been a nine year board member.

Jon and his wife Jeannie operate a farming and cow-calf operation in the Platte area.  The primary crops on the farm are corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa.  The calves are back-grounded through the feedlot.

Jon is actively involved with SDCA, Farm Bureau, and the Knights of Columbus.  He also sits on his local township board.

Jon and Jeannie have four children and fourteen grandchildren.  Their two sons, Jentry and Chip, graduates of SDSU, have returned home to the family operation.  Their daughters, both teachers, also live on farm/cattle operations.  Ronna and Todd Volmer live in Winner and Tobiann and Wes Andrews live in Bowman, ND.

Bill runs a cow-calf operation consisting of composite hybrid type cattle and registered Angus. Slovek Ranch also holds an annual bull sale. Bill is actively involved in the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association, Farm Bureau and was a member of the South Dakota Ag and Rural Leadership Class 4, which traveled around the state, to Washington D.C. and to China learning about agriculture. Following graduation from SDARL, Bill was named Class President which allows him to continue to be active and involved in SDARL. Bill has also served on the Phillip School Board for five years, and is currently School Board president.

Bill is married to Penny, who teaches grades K-12 art in Phillip. Bill and Penny have three children. Daughter Belinda graduated from SDSU and currently lives with her husband north of Kadoka where her husband ranches and she works at the bank. Son Brock graduated from Southeast Tech and currently works part time at home on the ranch and also helps out farmers in the Sioux Falls area during the harvest season. Youngest son Bo works full time at home on the ranch where he also has his own set of cows.
