Young Producer's Council

The South Dakota Cattlemen's Association Young Producer's Council (YPC) was developed to encourage interaction among young producers, the sharing of ideas and the building of professional and personal relationships and is directed a producers ages 18-35.  By joining the SDCA YPC group members not only receive the benefits of a lobbyist in the state legislature and regular issue updates but also join a network of producers eager to learn, grow and improve their own operations.

YPC updates are available online on the social networking site facebook.com, through the YPC monthly e-newsletter and text messages.  Members also receive the bi-monthly magazine the South Dakota Cattleman and can sign up to receive our weekly e-newsletter.

The Young Producer's Council is open to all SDCA members ages 18-35 and SDCA Student Members.

SDCA also offers a student membership available to full-time college students.  Student Membership Application.  Student members are invited to attend local and affiliate meetings, the annual convention and trade show and participate in all YPC events.  If you are interested in starting a student organization at your college please contact Cayla Christiansen.
*Student members must provide proof of enrollment to be eligible for the discount membership rate.

A $250 scholarship is also available for SDCA student members.  To be eligible for the scholarship members must recruit at least one new member, submit one letter of recommendation and future intent and attend the SDCA Annual Convention and Trade, December 3-4 in Sioux Falls, SD.  If you have questions about the SDCA YPC scholarship or how you can become involved in the YPC please email Cayla Christiansen or call her at 605-945-2333.
