Beefing up Dakotafest

South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association will be returning to Dakotafest in Mitchell, South Dakota this year. Make sure to mark your calendar for Aug 20th -22th to stop down and check out the booth located in the northwest corner of the event grounds. The South Dakota Cattlemen will be serving beef sandwiches at their food booth and sharing how cattlemen producers are creating positive impact on the state’s economy.  The cattlemen cook eye of round on site using a Traeger grill. The meat is then sliced and served in two delicious options, the original roast beef sandwich or a philly style sandwich with cheese and peppers. Combine your meal with chips ad a drink for the most affordable option on the grounds. The South Dakota Dairy Association also shares the structure with the cattlemen so make sure to bring the family for your one stop shop for delicious beef sandwiches and ice cream! 5,000 sandwiches were served over the three day event in Mitchell last year. Make sure to stop by the SDCA booth to learn how the cattlemen’s association has been advocating for policy changes this year at the state and national level. One win for the association this year was the FEEDD Act, which has allowed farmers to plant a forage crop on prevent plant acres to be eligible for harvest September 1st instead of the original date of November 1st. Attendees also can stop by booth and learn how to become an SDCA member. The mission of the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association is to provide a voice for South Dakota cattlemen on all public policy issues in front of congress, the state legislature and government agencies. SDCA staff and leadership represent the interests of SDCA members and testify based on member directed-policy Follow the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association on Facebook for all for announcements regarding the Beef booth at Dakotafest
